Enabling new windows (aka popups)
Most web browsers will block new windows by default.
When for example previewing a web document, the editor wants to open it in a new window (which will be blocked by the browser).
How to enable new windows (also known as "popups") ....
Chome/Opera/Edge
Open the following URL in a new window/tab:
chrome://settings/content/popups
Or follow these steps:
- Click on the icon/widget left of the domain in the address-field
- Click on "site settings".
- Right to "Pop-ups and redirects" select Allow.
Firefox
Open the following URL in a new window/tab:
about:preferences#privacy
(scroll down to "Block pop-up windows" and click "Exceptions")
Or follow the steps below:
- Click on the icon/widget left of the domain in the address-field, it usually looks like a pad-lock.
- Click on the right arrow right to the connection status.
- Click on "more information"
- Choose the permissions tab
- Under "Open Pop-up Windows" deselect "use default" and choose "Allow"
